Job Responsibilities:
- Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts.
- Review requisitions and prepare purchase orders for goods and services required.
- Expedite orders and communicate with vendors to remedy defective and unacceptable materials as needed.
- Maintain vendor and material database to ensure records and prices are accurate and up to date.
- Monthly and annual reporting of scrap metal for EPA requirements.
- Use good communication skills to provide information to management, department heads and coworkers.
- Able to troubleshoot to obtain missing information and work closely with managers of other departments to ensure all data is correctly entered.
- Develop good working relationships with vendors to help ensure quality merchandise and on time delivery.
- Able to use proper judgement considering the costs and benefits of a potential action.
- Set-up new vendors in our systems and ensure all required documentation is on file.
- Any other duties delegated by manager.
Job Requirements:
- Have knowledge of all aspects of the business, including raw materials, production processes, quality control and costs that effect each area.
- Have good math skills as well as knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.
- Cooperative, team-focused attitude
- Knowledge and understanding of MS Office products, and internet browsers.
- Able to learn software programs quickly and efficiently.
- Able to use telephone system and copy machine.
- Able to follow procedures and written instructions with limited supervision.
